Though she ran cross-country in high school, Natalie Isaac didn't really get serious about fitness till a dozen years ago when she discovered, and is now a co-owner of, InsideOut Gym. She loved pounding the pavement, but pain and fatigue took its toll.

After William Griffin Jenkins graduated from Memphis University School in 1989, he picked up an English degree from Ole Miss, and then headed for Washington, D.C., where he interned for Senator Don Sundquist. Deciding to stay in the nation's capital, his broadcasting career took off.

Last year he swept the Memphis Indie Film Festival Awards for his film OMG/Hahaha. Although he doesn't have a film in this year's festival, he will still be part of the action.

Former University of Memphis All-American DeAngelo Williams opens his fourth season as a pro this month. A year ago, Williams rushed for 1,515 yards and led the NFL with 20 touchdowns as his Carolina Panthers went 12-4 and reached the playoffs.

He grew up on a dairy farm in Olive Branch and never expected to land in downtown Memphis. But in 1980, Clyde Carson started as a Circuit Court "runner," moved up through the ranks, and since 2002 has been Shelby County Jury Coordinator (formerly called commissioner).
