Optional Schools Host Open Houses in January 2013

The Optional School programs of the Memphis City Schools (MCS) offer a range of educational alternatives for your student.

There are 44 different optional schools offerings, some that function as a school-within-a-school, others that are independendent entities. But all provide a specific educational focus, whether it's college prepatory, the fine arts, or one of four theme-based programs.

Starting in January, each optional school will host an open house, showcasing student work and allowing parents to ask questions about what their program offers.

In addition, the University of Memphis' Campus School will host an informational meeting for new parents on January 4th, from 9 a.m. to noon.

To learn more about each school and to view the open house schedule, go to the MCS website. The schedule is also printed in the December issue of Memphis Parent. Be sure to pick us up at Kroger today.
