Organic Blue Corn Chips at Target: Delicious!

When the Target in East Memphis was renovated earlier this year to accommodate more groceries, I was a real hater. I whined incessantly about how I missed the gardening department and how I hated having food, clothes and housewares in the same shopping cart.

These days, I'm eating crow, or more accurately, I'm tearing my way through a bag of Archer Farms "Blue Corn with Flax Seed Tortilla Chips," my new favorite snack food. To be honest, I head to Target with the sole intent of buying a bag or two of these chips, although I also buy something like kitty litter so I don't feel so guilty.

Archer Farms, as I'm sure you know, is Target's private label for everything from salsa to Belgium dark chocolate. I've been disappointed by the label's meal-in-box items, but the brand redeems itself with the organic blue corn chips flavored with sea salt and lime. Plus, there's the flax seed, which give the chips a wonderful earthy flavor.

If you decide to buy the blue corn chips, be prepared to hunt a little. Chips take up half an aisle at Target, and there are lots of other varieties. I haven't tried any others, so If you like another flavor, please share.

If you love the flavor of Blue Corn with Flax then you really should try Whale Tails Tortilla Chips Blue Corn with the rediscovered Mayan Superseed CHIA. A great earthy flavor as well. Your body digests CHIA easier than Flax and Chia contains more Omega 3s. Dr Oz and Dr Weil both rave about Chia and Whale Tails Tortilla Chips blend just the right amount of Chia with Organic, Non GMO Blue Corn to create a healthy snack that is both good for you and the planet.

OMG....This is also my favorite snack food. Just the right amount of salt, perfect crispness of the chips (some chips are either too hard or not crisp enough), and the added flavor from the flaxseed. I googled to find out if anyone else likes these chips, and I came across your site. Glad to know someone else loves these chips. Interestingly, enough, my dog loves them as well.

Please be aware that even though these chips are Organic, they are not non-GMO. There is a difference. Eating a diet with genetically modified corn (in any form i.e corn flour, cornstarch, corn syrup, etc.) has been shown to be linked to certain cancers and liver/kidney dysfunction - these are the facts. There are several brands of Organic AND non-GMO combined products that are available. Just wanted you all to be aware.
