Wanted: Restaurant Recommendations in Cordova, Collierville and Bartlett
Over the past few months, I’ve been diligently working away on an upcoming book titled Food Lovers’ Guide to Memphis. The book’s publisher, Globe Pequot Press, is hoping for a year-end release. Of course, I have to finish writing the book first, and that’s where you can help.
The book is a travel guide of sorts to restaurants, specialty markets, and artisan purveyors. It has a nice local spin (no franchises!) and is organized in chapters by location. I’m working now on the chapters for Cordova, Collierville, and Bartlett. Since I don’t live or work in these neighborhoods, I’m worried about missing restaurants or markets people like. For instance, I’ve read about a gourmet store in Cordova specializing in spices, but I can’t remember its name.
So please help. If you have favorite restaurants, markets, or producers in the suburbs, send your suggestions to pam@memphisflyer.com or leave a comment on the Memphis magazine Facebook page. I’d love to hear from you.

Memphis Stew is a food blog that celebrates our city’s community table and the people who grow, cook, and eat Memphis food. It is written by Pamela Denney, food editor of Memphis magazine, who sees food as a delicious way to build families, friendships, and a more healthy and sustainable future.
I'm sure the people at Rely Local can help, https://www.facebook.com/#!/colliervillebusiness , and please include our friends at Bangkok Alley. They are amazing people and have 4 restaurants: Southaven just south of Snowden Grove, Downtown at 140 Union, Collierville, and our favorite is the one on Brookhaven Circle. No listing would be complete without Buckley's Fine Filet Grill.
Thank you so much for looking out for our local businesses. We all need you SO much!

Side Porch Restaurant in Bartlett is wonderful. The home-grown atmosphere has not changed a bit in at least 15 years-how long I have known my Bartlett-native spouse! Kitchy atmosphere aside, the salads are always fresh, the rolls always hot, and the steaks and chicken taste very fresh and never overdone. Prices are sweet and the tea is sweeter! Can you tell this is our family favorite when we eat with the in-laws???
