Gus’s in East Memphis Is Shaping Up

People in East Memphis are excited that Gus’s “World Famous” Fried Chicken is coming to the east end of town. In case you’ve been wondering where the restaurant will be located, here it is: south of Poplar, near Gibson’s Donuts where Mt. Moriah forks into Mendenhall.

Franchise owners are refurbishing the long vacant lot into a 2,500-square- foot restaurant scheduled to open in early summer, according to a report in the Daily News. The paper also reported that the restaurant will use fresh vegetables, which for me is even more exciting than Gus’s signature three- piece plate.
