Look! MORE Photos of the Nineteenth Century Club
photos by Vance Lauderdale
You asked for them, so here they are: even more photos of the interior of the Nineteenth Century Club. These were taken in December 2011, during an estate sale on the property. And just as with those I posted last week, I apologize for the darkness and graininess of the images.
They show the grand rooms downstairs, with their wonderful woodwork and handpainted wallpaper, along with some shots of the somewhat plainer — but still very attractive — rooms on the second floor. I also included a shot of the old servants' indicator box, with an arrow pointing to which room had summoned the hired help.
And what seems to be a mannequin standing by the window in one photo? She wasn't there when I took the picture. Just one of the building's ghosts — and without hands!
Enjoy them while you can. Click on them to see them full-width, and be sure to notice all the "orbs" in the images.
