Baptist Memorial Hospital-Collierville
Baptist Collierville opened its doors in May 1999. With all the amenities of home, the hospital sits on a 75-acre, park-like campus and features extra-large patient rooms and a walking trail. Medical services include a full-service emergency room, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, inpatient and outpatient surgery, ICU, a six-bed step-down unit, inpatient and outpatient diagnostics, the Baptist Sleep Disorders Center, and 68 acute care beds.
Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis
Baptist Memphis is the flagship of the Baptist Memorial Health Care system and serves as a major referral system for patients across the Mid-South. The hospital offers many diagnostic, surgical, and rehabilitation services and has added many beds in the past few years with the opening of a new patient tower and the Baptist Heart Institute. Consumers have named it their most preferred hospital for overall health-care services in a National Research Corporation poll for the past 14 years.
Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women
Baptist Memorial Hospital for Women opened in 2001 and was the first hospital in Memphis to have in- house 24/7 neonatologists, OB-GYNs, anesthesiologists, and OB residents. It is the only freestanding women's hospital in Memphis and one of only a handful of such hospitals across the country. Special facilities include the Dr. Sam P. Patterson Library, a newborn intensive-care unit, a high-risk pregnancy center, a urodynamics center, and a comprehensive breast center that includes mammography, stereotactic biopsy, ultrasound, digital mammography, breast health specialists (nurses specially trained in breast cancer care who serve as a resource for patients throughout the cancer journey), a multidisciplinary breast conference where patients can get second and third opinions on treatment options at no additional cost; and the area's only Breast Risk Management Center, which allows women at an increased risk for developing breast cancer the opportunity to access the resources and specialized care needed to manage their risks and prevent breast cancer—all in one place.
Baptist Rehab-Germantown is an acute care facility that offers a comprehensive array of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services. The hospital concentrates on a variety of rehabilitation and diagnostic services, both inpatient and outpatient, to treat many types of injuries and conditions, such as stroke, arthritis, spine and back disorders and injuries, fractures, amputations and spinal cord and head injuries. Located within the hospital, Baptist Rehab-Germantown's HealthScore Screening Center offers a host of tests to help determine patients' risk for developing disorders such as heart disease, stroke, aneurysms, and osteoporosis. The hospital also offers an open MRI machine and a Wound Prevention and Management Center.
Lakeside Behavioral Health System
Lakeside provides comprehensive treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. As a full-service private behavioral health hospital, Lakeside specializes in inpatient, outpatient, and day treatment for emotional/behavioral problems, emotional trauma, and addiction problems for all ages. Lakeside's 37-acre main campus is located near I-40 and Highway 64 and has been in operation since 1976. Lakeside also operates an around-the-clock assessment center to help people find the treatment that best meets their needs. It offers specialty programs for suicide intervention, bipolar spectrum disorders, trauma resolution, geriatric psychiatry, and young adult populations.
Methodist Fayette Hospital
Methodist Fayette Hospital serves Somerville and neighboring communities in West Tennessee. Fayette offers 24-hour emergency and non-emergency services including acute heart attack and stroke intervention, general surgery, lab services, ophthalmology, podiatry, physical therapy, radiology and same-day surgery. Diagnostic services include CAT scan, ultrasound, mammography, MRI, and nuclear medicine.
Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital
Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital is a community hospital serving East Memphis, Germantown, Collierville, and surrounding communities. The hospital is the area's only accredited Certified Chest Pain Center, and offers advanced interventional cardiac and vascular surgery, robotic and minimally invasive surgery, orthopaedic services, a 24-hour emergency department, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, and a host of diagnostic imaging services. Opened in 2010, the Women's and Children's Pavilion at Methodist Germantown is home to a state-of-the-art, level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, spacious maternity rooms, and a pediatric Le Bonheur Unit for noncritical cases. Saint Francis Hospital
Saint Francis has been recognized for excellence of care by United Healthcare, CIGNA, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and Aetna. In 2010, the American Heart Association presented the Gold Performance Achievement Award to Saint Francis for Heart Failure and Cardiovascular Disease in their Get With the Guidelines program. Saint Francis performs more joint replacement surgeries than any other hospital in Memphis. The hospital recently opened a new Joint & Spine Center, featuring advanced technology and hotel-like suites. Offering a wide array of medical services, Saint Francis is noted for its many Centers of Excellence, including its Center for Surgical Weight Loss, Sleep Center, Chest Pain Emergency Center, Cardiac Care Center, Surgical Services, Diabetes Center, and Women's Center.
Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center
A part of the Memphis community since 1922, the Veterans Affairs Medical Center is a tertiary-care facility and one of the most complex in the nation's VA health-care system. Located in the heart of the Memphis medical community, the VA Medical Center makes services available to more than 206,000 veterans residing in 53 counties in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi. It serves as a regional referral center for spinal cord injury and prosthetics treatment and offers acute medical, surgical, and psychiatric care, as well as comprehensive primary, intermediate, and specialized outpatient care to entitled and eligible veterans.
Le Bonheur Children's Hospital
Founded in 1952, Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center is the Mid-South's first and only comprehensive pediatric medical facility. Every year it treats some 130,000 children from across the country and throughout the world. Home to one of the nation's 10 busiest pediatric emergency departments, Le Bonheur also hosts one of the largest pediatric surgical brain tumor programs, In late September 2010, Le Bonheur will open its new $340- million building to patients. This 610,000-square-foot facility significantly increases the space for patient care, research, and teaching.
Memphis Mental Health Institute (MMHI)
MMHI is one of five state-owned psychiatric hospitals in Tennessee. This regional mental health institute specializes in short-term, inpatient, intensive psychiatric care for adults. MMHI provides individualized treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation tailored to patients' specific needs. MMHI partners with the UT Health Science Center to provide training for psychiatric residents, medical students, and other allied health professionals.
Methodist Extended Care Hospital (MECH)
Methodist Extended Care Hospital is housed on the same campus as Methodist University Hospital. MECH is a long-term, acute-care facility that provides highly individualized care for medically fragile patients who still need specialized nursing care and intensive therapies through an extended hospital stay.
Methodist University Hospital, located in the heart of the medical center, is a full-service tertiary-care facility, receiving referrals from across the Mid-South as well as from around the United States and the world. Services include an emergency room, an accredited Certified Chest Pain Center, neuroscience, cardiology, oncology, transplant services, urology, orthopedic, and rehabilitation. Methodist University Hospital is the flagship for Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, the third-largest hospital in the country (based on admissions) and Memphis' second-largest private employer. Methodist University is the primary academic campus for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
Regional Medical Center at Memphis
The Regional Medical Center at Memphis, commonly known as The MED, is health-care resource providing services to patients in a five-state region within 150 miles of Memphis. The MED's comprehensive health-care delivery system is anchored by highly respected Centers of Excellence including Trauma, Burn, Neonatal Intensive Care and High-Risk Obstetrics. The hospital also provides an array of primary care services through its Health Loop and subspecialty clinics. As an academic center, the Med serves as one of the largest medical and surgical teaching sites for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Through its affiliation with UTHSC, more than half the doctors in Tennessee are trained at The MED.
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering research and treatment of children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Ranked the No. 1 children's cancer hospital by Parents magazine and U.S. News & World Report, St. Jude has developed research protocols that helped push overall survival rates for childhood cancer from less than 20 percent when the hospital opened to almost 80 percent today. Founded in 1962 by late entertainer Danny Thomas, St. Jude freely shares its discoveries with scientific and medical communities worldwide. St. Jude treats more than 5,700 patients each year and is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance. St. Jude is financially supported by individual donors, organizations, and corporations.
Methodist North Hospital
Methodist North Hospital, located in northeast Shelby County, is a community hospital serving the Raleigh-Bartlett area and surrounding communities, as well as residents of north Shelby and south Tipton Counties. Methodist North offers a full range of services including an emergency department, a Certified Chest Pain Center, comprehensive cardiac care, acute inpatient care and treatment, expanded laser surgery capabilities, extensive surgical services, outpatient radiology and mammography, a same-day surgery unit, a robotics surgery program, a total joint center, and an advanced wound healing center. Methodist North also offers outpatient therapeutic services, including rehabilitation services for speech, occupational, and physical therapy, as well as cardiac rehabilitation.
Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett
Bartlett's first full-service health-care facility opened in June 2004. The facility is located on 23.6 acres and features 64 medical/surgical beds, a Women's Center with 10 mother-baby suites, 10 Level II neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) beds, and 16 critical-care/intensive care beds. Saint Francis Hospital-Bartlett also provides 24-hour emergency care. The hospital has received the Get With The Guidelines–Heart Failure Silver Performance Achievement Award from the American Heart Association.
Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto
Baptist DeSoto offers diagnostic, surgical and rehabilitation services. In November 2006, Baptist DeSoto opened a new, 11-story tower, featuring all-private rooms, expanded operating suites and a new emergency room. In 2010, Baptist DeSoto received the Hospital of the Year award (100 beds or more) from the Mississippi Nurses Association. The hospital's inpatient rehabilitation program ranked in the top 1 percent in the nation for quality in a report based on 2009 performance outcomes. In 2010, the hospital's Women's Center became the first breast imaging facility in DeSoto County to offer digital mammography.
Delta Medical Center
Delta Medical Center is a medical/surgical hospital offering around-the-clock emergency services, radiology, respiratory therapy, cardiology, inpatient and ambulatory surgery, an intensive-care unit, and a pulmonary rehabilitation program. Additional services include a sleep lab and hyperbaric and wound-care services. Inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services offer adult mental health, addictive disorder treatment, geriatric programs, a free diabetic education program, and Christian-based services.
Methodist South Hospital
Methodist South Hospital, located in Whitehaven, is a community hospital serving the south Memphis area and surrounding communities, as well as residents of northern Mississippi. Methodist South offers a full range of services including an emergency department, a Certified Chest Pain Center, a primary stroke center, comprehensive cardiac care, acute inpatient care and treatment, a maternity center, orthopedics, a dialysis unit, a critical care unit, a cancer care center, extensive surgical services, outpatient radiology and mammography, a same-day surgery unit, and a comprehensive wound healing center. Methodist South also offers outpatient therapeutic services, including rehabilitation services for speech, occupational, and physical therapy, as well as cardiac rehabilitation.
